Day Highlight
I’m just content and happy today and it’e because I was working with animals.
I smelled like reptiles, I got pissed on, lunged at, looked at like I was nuts, almost got hit by a car, got dirty…AND I FEEL GREAT! I’m smiling, I’ve been doing so much of the afternoon and evening!
Mostly it was dealing with the Black Rat. I love reptiles, snakes are attractive to me, such beautiful creatures. Black Rat are known to be aggressive, though non-toxic. He was so handsome with his white-grey underbelly, how could I not stop and get him out of harms way?
It’s a reminder WHY I wanted to go be a Naturalist again. Because I don’t CARE about those things, I don’t mind getting dirty, just tie my hair outta my eyes. Look at me like I’m Nuts! I am nuts! But I’m the good kind. The musty scent of reptiles makes me calm, I’m not offended by it. Come at me Cars, I’ll protect things, besides I was hit before, so no biggie :3c lunged at, pissed on, shat on, whatever, just part of getting dirty doing thing other people don’t want to. I can Change my Clothes and Take a Shower! I can wrap a bite or scratch if I get one since MD is fairly tame in way of poisonous species.
I guess what I’m saying is when it comes to Naturalist Folk, and ‘Normal’ Folk,
Instead of thinking ‘I should not pick up the snake to move him, Black Rat are aggressive’ I thought “Dammit, I don’t have good gloves or I could just grab him and move him quickly with less stress.”
There was no question of ‘I should not’ but that ‘I am unable to at this time’ because I wanted to avoid unnecessary injury to either of us being that I had other tools to move him.
